What Is This
Formation is for anyone willing to be formed.
Formation School of Leadership is open to any believer — regardless of title, role, or whether you ever intend to lead. If you are ready to be formed in your inner life, your character, and your faithfulness, this school is for you.
You do not need to be in ministry. You do not need to be pursuing a leadership position. You simply need to be willing to go deep — to be shaped before you are sent, and to be trusted before you are given more.
Formation is not about what you do. It is about who you are becoming.
Formation School of Leadership exists to form presence-driven disciples and leaders whose character and faithfulness make them trustworthy to serve, lead, and be sent with integrity in the Church and in the world.
The 18-Month Journey
Three Phases. One Formation.
Each phase builds on the last. You cannot skip what you have not yet become.
Months 1 — 6
Inner Life Formation
Before you can lead others, you must be formed from within. Phase 1 addresses the hidden life — your prayer, your identity, your inner posture before God and people. This is the foundation everything else is built upon.
6 Months · Foundations of Formation
Months 7 — 12
Responsibility & Leadership Formation
Faithfulness is proven in the small things first. Phase 2 moves students into greater responsibility within the local church. You will serve, lead, and learn what it means to carry weight faithfully.
6 Months · Leading with Faithfulness
Months 13 — 18
Doctrine, Discernment & Sending
The final phase equips students with doctrinal depth, discernment, and the theological grounding required to be trusted with greater influence. Completion makes you eligible for sending — and for VIU academic credits.

Formation School of Leadership has officially partnered with Vision International University — an internationally accredited university operating in 140 nations worldwide.
Every student who completes all three phases of FSL earns academic credits toward a degree with VIU. Your 18 months of formation does not just develop your character — it positions you for credentialed academic achievement at the same time.
This is one of the reasons FSL carries a tuition investment. You are not paying for a church class. You are investing in a formation process that produces both spiritual depth and recognized academic standing.

Graduates apply earned FSL credits toward ministry and leadership degree programs at Vision International University — from Associate through Doctoral level.

This is not for spectators.
Formation is a serious commitment. If you enroll, you are agreeing to four non-negotiables.

Weekly Formation Night
Every week for 90 minutes via Zoom. This is the anchor of your formation. If you miss, you watch the recording. You do not skip.

Consistent Sunday Worship
You are not building something for yourself alone — you are part of a house. You show up to worship with your local church family, wherever you are in the world.

Faithful Team Serving
Formation does not happen in isolation. You serve. You are planted. You have a place where you contribute within your local church.

Regular Giving
Giving reveals the posture of the heart. Consistent, faithful giving to your local church is a required commitment. It is evidence of where your trust and treasure lie.

Time Commitment

Equivalent to a 3-Credit Course
- Formation Night — 90 minutes weekly via Zoom
- Pre-session preparation — 45 to 60 minutes
- Guided practice and application — 30 minutes
- Weekly check-in — 15 minutes
- Required reading — approximately 30 minutes

What You Are Wondering
Formation is for any believer who is ready to be formed — regardless of whether you are in ministry, pursuing leadership, or simply want to go deeper in your walk with God. You do not need a title or a role. You need to be teachable, committed, and willing to grow.
For Cohort 1, no. Starting with Cohort 2, completion of Foundations of Faith will be required as a prerequisite for enrollment.
Watch the recording before the following week. Do not skip it. If you are going to miss multiple sessions, reach out so we can discuss whether this is the right season for you to be in Formation.
Formation Nights are currently via Zoom. All course content lives on the Formation School platform. The program is designed to transition to in-person as One Way Church grows.
No. Formation School is open globally. You are required to be faithfully planted in a local church wherever you are in the world. Sunday attendance, active service, and faithful giving are honored on a global honor-system basis.
You receive a commissioning certificate and become eligible — not entitled — for greater responsibility in the church and your sphere of influence. You will also qualify to apply earned credits toward a degree at Vision International University through FSL's official partnership with VIU. Completion marks you as someone who has been formed and found faithful.
No. Formation is cohort-based. You begin with your cohort and journey together. If you miss the current enrollment window, you can apply for the next cohort.
